The Al-Anon family units are associations for the family and friends of alcoholics to share their experiences in order to resolve their common problems. Meetings are in Icelandic and held all over the country. Individuals can form a group and obtain educational material from Al-Anon in a variety of languages.

 

SÁÁ – National Centre for Addiction Medicine

SÁÁ operates a detox and rehabilitation centre for alcoholics and drug users, as well as an outpatient unit. The centre provides support for family members. SÁÁ is also involved in prevention activities.

SÁÁ is based in Reykjavik and has a centre in Akureyri.
